ACADI Annual Partnering Summit on World Diabetes Day

The Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations held its Annual Partnering Summit on World Diabetes Day on 14 November.

The Inclusion Panel with host Dr Cecilia Pham (Department of Medicine), Mr Ray Kelly (ACADI), Professor Chris Nolan (The Australian National University) and Ms Jennifer Halliday (The Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes).

Co-hosted by MTPConnect, this year's Summit focused on the themes of Innovation, Inclusion and Impact in diabetes research.

ACADI Director Professor Elif Ekinci was joined by the Chair of the ACADI Independent Council, Professor Susan Alberti AC to open the event, with Professor Brendan Murphy delivering the keynote speech.

Australian and international diabetes experts from ACADI’s International Advisory Group delivered presentations on innovations in research both at home and overseas, alongside panel discussions with the diabetes community on how researchers can work together with those living with diabetes, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, to co-design research for better outcomes.

Hon. Jaala Pulford, Chair of MTPConnect, hosted an insightful panel discussion on partnering for impact in research, with input from venture capitalists, industry and researchers on their commercialisation journey.
