Department of General Practice and Primary Care forms new partnership with Torch Recruit

The Department of General Practice and Primary Care is embarking on a major collaboration with Torch Recruit to support the development and conduct of primary care-based research, with a specific focus on the recruitment of suitable participants for clinical trials.

Torch Recruit

The new partnership will be known as General Practice Clinical Trials Australia (GPCTA).

The GPCTA partnership leverages the Department's two key practice-based research networks, VicREN and PARTNER, with Torch Recruit’s innovative practice-based technology that streamlines the identification of eligible participants for clinical trials.

Through the Department's expanding MRFF-funded PARTNER network, the collaboration will be uniquely placed to reach Australians living in rural and remote areas, vastly increasing accessibility to clinical trials and improving health outcomes.

This is an exciting new adventure and the Department looks forward to working with the team at Torch Recruit to further primary care research.
