The Paediatric Academy in the Department of Paediatrics recently completed the Leadership in Learning Health System Program in collaboration with Melbourne Children's Global Health.

This initiative brought together 20 international paediatric senior leaders from Fiji, Vanuatu, Laos, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The program's goal is to develop leadership capacity for Learning Health Systems in the Indo-Pacific, resulting in the establishment of stronger healthcare leaders and the promotion of a culture of continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.

The program included:

  • Active learning, aimed at stimulating transformative shifts in thinking and behaviour in the Learning Health System
  • Dynamic Implementation Research Symposium
  • Observerships at over 10 Departments within the Royal Children's Hospital
  • Mentoring sessions with local experts.
