On top of the world - Alumnus summits Mt Everest

University of Melbourne alumnus Wui Kin Chin (MBBS, 1996) summited Mt Everest on May 16, 2018 at 10.30 am.

Wui Kin had been training for the last two years to complete the Seven Summits.

Mt Everest was one of the last mountains he needed to conquer to complete the challenge.

Climbing the 8848-metre mountain was made possible with the support of his wife, Thanaporn Lorchirachoonkul (MBBS, 1996) and family who live in Singapore.

Many of the MBBS 1996 alumni year followed Wui Kin’s exploits on social media

He posted on Facebook on Wednesday, May 16 at 10.30am: “Summit Mt Everest (8,848m).  I have lived the dream.  The happiest moment did not come from standing on the highest point on earth. But from sharing the dream and journey with family and friends.”
