Professor Kevin Eva joins Melbourne Medical School

Professor Kevin Eva. Honorary Professorial Fellow, Melbourne Medical School, Department of Medical Education

Internationally renowned researcher, Prof Kevin Eva, has accepted an honorary appointment as a Professorial Fellow in the Department of Medical Education.

Prof Eva is the Director of Educational Research and Scholarship at the University of British Columbia, Department of Medicine, Vancouver, Canada, and a Senior Scientist in the University’s Center for Health Education Scholarship.

His work on selection into medical courses has had a significant impact throughout Australia, with his ‘multiple mini interviews’ (MMIs) replacing the more traditional interview panels in most medical schools.

He is well-published in the development of clinical reasoning, learner self-regulation and assessment.

He is the editor-in-chief of the leading journal in the field, Medical Education.

Already a regular visitor to Melbourne, Prof Eva’s appointment strengthens scholarly links between our researchers and his team in Canada.

Opportunities to participate in his workshops will be advertised in due course.
