Thesis Title: A Neuroimaging Investigation of Adolescent Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)

Thesis Summary: 

Hollie's thesis used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques to examine neurobiological changes associated with adolescent myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), a debilitating illness of unknown aetiology. Collectively, her work revealed differences in the morphology and connectivity between brain regions that regulate the neuroendocrine and autonomic nervous systems in adolescents with ME/CFS compared with healthy, age-matched peers. She hopes this work will provide valuable insight into the neurobiological changes associated with this complex illness.
