Connection and collaboration

Critical Care Connections is an opportunity for members of our department to reconnect with colleagues, share insights, and help shape the future of critical care.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Critical Care Connections 2025 on the 22nd October. We've received lots of positive feedback, with attendees thoroughly enjoying the quality of the program, speakers, and discussions. The split between research and education was especially welcome and it was wonderful to see a number of members from regional areas attending.

This year’s program highlighted the strength of clinical trial networks, with speakers emphasising sustainable research models and the importance of embedding research into everyday practice.

The second half of the program was focussed on education innovation, showcasing advances in simulation, teaching approaches, and disaster-preparedness training.

Professor David Story also reflected on the Department of Critical Care’s first five years, celebrating our rapid growth and collaborative culture.

You can also read about the event on the ANZCA website.

Save the date for Critical Care Connections 2026: Monday 19th October!
