Congratulations to Dr Ali Abdelhamid, recipient of a Viertel Clinical Investigator Award

Congratulations to Dr Yasmine Ali Abdelhamid on receiving a Sylia and Charles Viertel Charitable Foundation Clinical Investigator Award for her project titled "Targeting Muscle Loss to Improve Outcomes from Critical Illness".

Dr Ali Abdelhamid is a intensivist at Royal Melbourne Hospital, with research interests in long-term outcomes following critical illness. She has specific expertise in complex physiological studies of critical illness, clinical trial design, and long-term functional outcome assessment in survivors of critical illness.

Dr Ali Abdelhamid also heads the Department of Critical Care Honours Program.

The award comes with a $90,000 grant to assist Dr Ali Abdelhamid in improving patient outcomes following critical illness.
