Success at Western Health Research Week

We are proud to share that members of our department were recognised at the recent Western Health Research Week for their outstanding contributions, showcasing their dedication and excellence in the field.

  • Nina Leggett was awarded the Best Podium Award - Allied Health for her project titled "Digital Peer Support for ICU Survivors- Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT)". This is a part of the larger icuRESOLVE trial with co-investigators Dr Yasmine Ali Abdelhamid, Samantha Bates, Prof Adam Deane & A/Prof Kimberley Haines.
  • Sam Bates was awarded the Plenary Health Innovation Grant. Sam is the Chair of the ANZICS-CTG Intensive Care Research Coordinator Interest Group (IRCIG) and an executive member of the Victorian Association of Research Nurses (VARN) and the College of Anaesthetists Research Coordinator Network (ARCN) Executive. Sam was instrumental in conducting a phase I clinical device trial of a ventilation hood to help protect healthcare workers from COVID-19 aerosol exposure during the pandemic.
