Running a large trial

Professor Adam Deane is an intensivist with research interests including pragmatic clinical trials and outcomes from critical illness. He is internationally recognised as a leading critical care researcher. He currently serves as Senior Staff Specialist, Head of Intensive Care Unit Research, and Deputy Director Intensive Care Unit at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Professor Deane is also Deputy Head of Department and leads the intensive care stream in the Department of Critical Care. He holds a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Investigator Grant (Leadership, Level 1).

How do we redesign emergencies?

Associate Professor Stuart Marshall is Deputy Director of the Department of Anaesthesia at Peninsula Health and Associate Professor of Critical Care at the University of Melbourne. He has developed several undergraduate and postgraduate courses on human factors, safety, and crisis management courses.

Stuart has both a Masters degree and PhD in Psychology (Cognitive Engineering) and Human Factors. His work has helped develop and research several internationally used cognitive aids for routine and emergency use in hospital settings and to improve the quality of life of people living with disabilities in the community?
