Brief background and research interests
I am passionate about women’s health and intersections with sexual violence and family/domestic violence. I completed my Honours degree within the department of General Practice in 2017 where I was able to learn and spark an interest in qualitative research which I have continued into my PhD.
What led you to this research?
As an Honours student I researched clinicians understandings and perceptions of reproductive coercion at the Royal Women’s hospital. I discovered that there was very little known on how clinicians outside of a tertiary hospital, particularly in primary care identify and respond to reproductive coercion and abuse. We also didn’t know much at the time about women’s experiences accessing healthcare. Initially I begun my research as a Masters but there was too much to discover and I changed to a PhD in 2019.
