Australian Medical Acupuncture College - Part 1 Course
The Australian Medical Acupuncture College (AMAC) presents the Part 1 Course, a dynamic and comprehensive program which integrates evidence-based scientific medical knowledge with traditional Chinese medicine principles.
Medical acupuncture - using needles and laser - has extensive scientific evidence (Level 1) for the treatment of common pain related presentations to general practice - including migraine/ neck related headache, musculoskeletal pain, women’s health/dysmenorrhoea, depression and insomnia. What you can learn
- How to treat a diverse range of acute pain presentations including acute severe headache, musculoskeletal pain, spasm, renal colic and minor burns.
- How to treat many aspects of chronic pain effectively: Utilise the stimulation of neurophysiological pathways to reduce long-term pain, muscle spasm, migraine headache, pelvic pain/dysmenorrhea, hot flushes, IBS, depression, and insomnia.
- Harm minimisation- Reduce your reliance on prescribing opioid analgesics.

Course Structure
Experience a blended learning format, including online modules, webinars, face-to-face workshops, and clinical mentorship. Check out the Part 1 Course Timetable.
Course Hours
From February to October, engage in formal lectures, webinars, self-directed learning, assignments, case studies, and mentorship sessions. The course requires approximately 8-10hrs time commitment per week on average, earning more than 300hrs of CPD.
Mentorship
Benefit from hands-on experience in acupuncture practical sessions with approved mentors across various states.
Workshop Weekends
Attend three compulsory practical teaching workshops in different states. Flexibility to attend multiple times.
Assessments
Be evaluated through assignments, written exams, and clinical assessments. Understand the Part 1 Course Assessments.
