Primary Breathe Australia – A collaborative approach to managing breathlessness in primary care
Chronic breathlessness occurs in many illnesses, including chronic respiratory disease, cancer and heart disease. Some people with chronic breathlessness may benefit from implementing non-pharmacological self-management approaches. In this trial patients with chronic lung diseases and persisting breathlessness will either be offered usual care or a nurse-led breathlessness education and support program (focusing on non-drug strategies) over 2-3 visits.
We are seeking the involvement of practices interested in becoming trial sites. As well as having eligible patients provided with free additional support, practices will receive an honorarium for their participation.
If your practice is interested in becoming a trial site for this important research, or to find out more, please contact vicrenres-enquiries@unimelb.edu.au for more information.
