Introducing our new Academic Registrars

Welcome to our 3 new Academic Registrars for 2020.

Anna Power is delighted to be joining the Department of General Practice in 2020, and will be undertaking a qualitative research project, under the supervision of Prof. Meredith Temple-Smith. The project will involve interviewing GPs and translators to explore current barriers and strategies to obtaining informed consent in medical consultations, from women born in Burma.

Asiel Adan Sanchez is working with Prof Meredith Temple-Smith and A/Prof Ruth McNair on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) health in medical education. Over the next 12 months, they will be undertaking a mixed-methods study assessing the impact of a 3-hour workshop on medical students’ knowledge, attitudes and perceptions towards LGBTIQ health.

Alan Jardine is working with Associate Professor Jo-Anne Manski-Nankervis. His project is titled: Antibiotic prescribing in general practice: Exploring compliance with guidelines and appropriateness of prescribing using extracted electronic medical record data in the Patron dataset.
