Look who’s talking now cancer and primary care on Twitter

The team at the Primary Care Collaborative Cancer Clinical Trials Group (PC4) have published new research in the British Journal of General Practice (Open) that is the first study to explore the content of tweets about the role of primary care in cancer. Reviewing over 2000 tweets from 44 different countries the study found that the public represented over 25% of Twitter users and that tweets from both the public and media organisations were frequently about a negative experience of cancer diagnosis, in particular a missed or delayed diagnosis by a GP.
