The future of genomics in primary care

Two new randomised controlled trials testing the use of genomics in primary care are up and running in the Primary Care Cancer Research Group.

The SCRIPT Trial builds upon the work of Sibel Saya’s recently conferred PhD examining how genomic bowel cancer risk information can encourage people to have the right bowel cancer screening at the right time.

The PRESIDE Trial is examining how a pharmacogenomic test can be useful to direct prescribing of antidepressants in people with moderate to severe depressive symptoms.

Both studies are recruiting in general practices around Melbourne and Victoria. Contact Sibel Saya (sibel.saya@unimelb.edu.au) for more information or to participate.
