Dr Anneliese Willems appointed Co-Chair of new WONCA Dermatology Special Interest Group

Dr Anneliese Willems has been appointed Co-Chair of the newly formed WONCA (World Organisation of Family Doctors) Special Interest Group in Dermatology. The group supports global collaboration to advance dermatology education, research, and practice in primary care.

The WONCA Special Interest Group (SIG) in Dermatology was established earlier this year to support collaboration in dermatology education, research and clinical care within global primary care. The group has attracted strong interest with 116 active members across 53 countries. It provides a platform for GPs and family doctors to share expertise, develop practical resources and advocate for improved access to skin health care within primary care.

The inaugural webinar was held last week and attracted over 200 registrants from around the world, highlighting the widespread enthusiasm for strengthening dermatology capability in primary care.

Members will connect in person and online at the WONCA World Conference in Lisbon this September to advance the group’s work and plan the next phase of activities.
