Introducing Dr Lu Yang

Health services researcher Dr Lu Yang has joined the Department to investigate how digital mental health support can improve mental health care for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

I am excited to join the Department of General Practice and Primary Care as an MPhil candidate under the supervision of Dr Cath Kaylor-Hughes, A/Prof Caroline Johnson and Dr Amy Coe. My background spans public health epidemiology, digital health implementation, and chronic disease management, alongside my current work as a lecturer in health practice and management at La Trobe University. My research will explore how primary care practices can use digital tools to identify and support mental health needs in CALD populations. Working with general practitioners and the CALD communities, my project will also evaluate Link-Me, a prognostic calculator and care navigation platform in this group. I look forward to collaborating across the Department and welcome conversations on digital equity, implementation science and community-engaged research.
