Research on Intimate Partner Violence Featured in The Conversation and ABC

New research by Dr Elizabeth McLindon and Professor Kelsey Hegarty on the timelines of intimate partner violence has been featured in The Conversation and on the ABC. Dr McLindon also spoke to the ABC about key findings from the study.

This nationally representative study sheds light on the psychological, physical and sexual abuse experienced by Australian women in intimate relationships. It focuses on the timeline of abuse, including the early warning signs that often precede more severe forms of violence.

The findings highlight the importance of early intervention and greater public awareness around the signs of coercive control and escalating abuse.
