SAFE project wins a ‘Victorian Public Healthcare Award’

The SAFE Project, funded by the Collier Charitable Fund, aims to assess the Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence (SHRFV) program and build an evidence base to inform future policy and practice concerning family violence identification and response.

A purpose-designed System Audit Tool (SAFE Tool) was successfully implemented across eighteen Victorian health services. Auditing and feedback are powerful mechanisms that can change behaviour both individually and across organisations. The SAFE Project showed that since the launch of the SHRFV program six years ago there has been significant system change across many organisations, however, there is still some way to go to ensure women and families are on a pathway to safety and well-being.
