New to the Department of General Practice

Meet Tim Wittick, Mei Lyn Tan and Alison Pung - our new academic GP registrars; and Jasmeen Oberoi - Research Support Officer

Tim Wittick
Tim is one of the new Academic GP Registrars for 2017 working part time in the department. Among many things, he is interested in refugee health and cross-cultural communication and is looking forward to doing qualitative research with John Furler and Phyllis Lau in these areas. In his free time, he enjoy bushwalking, volleyball and swims at the beach. Tim has been delighted by the warm introduction received thus far and looks forward to working with the department.

Mei Lyn Tan
Mei Lyn is a GPT 3 Registrar undertaking a part time academic post as her extended skills. She has previously worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin Hospital and Casterton/Coleraine Medical Clinics. Mei Lyn is interested in chronic disease management research - in particular, diabetes management. During her free time, Mei Lyn enjoys running and playing badminton.

Alison Pung
Alison Pung is an Academic Registrar currently working on a research project with the mental health team. She also works part-time as a GP Registrar in Hawthorn. In her spare time, Alison enjoys reading (pretty much anything), drawing portraits (still a work in progress) and watching movies - particularly about space.

Jasmeen Oberoi
Jasmeen Oberoi has joined the Cancer in Primary Care Research group at the VCCC and will be working as a Research Support Officer with Prof Jon Emery and Dr Jennifer Walker for the CRISP trial to implement the risk stratified colorectal cancer screening in primary care. Jasmeen has a strong foundation in Public Health including more than 4 years’ experience in the conduct of clinical research studies.
