Project title
Personalising interdisciplinary health professions education with generative AI.
Abstract / overview of project
Every student has the right to a personalised learning experience that provides adequate challenge for their level of understanding. However, highly personalised education has been a logistical impossibility in university settings, until now. With the public release of tools such as ChatGPT, educators can now provide a personalised learning experience including instant formative feedback and contextualised content to each student. The purpose of this PhD is to explore the creation of design principles that offers guidance to educators on the effective use of generative AI. Methods include a scoping review to establish a framework for creating design principles and using a design thinking approach to evaluate a range of interdisciplinary healthcare student experiences when using generative AI to personalise their learning experiences.
