The Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Newborn Health are pleased to announce the promotions of A/Prof Anthea Lindquist to Level D and Dr Melvin Marzan to Level B. These promotions recognise their outstanding contributions to research within the department and the wider university.
Associate Professor Anthea Lindquist’s elevation to Level D acknowledges her world‑leading research in perinatal epidemiology. Anthea has led work that uniquely links large population datasets to identify associations between events and exposures in pregnancy and long‑term outcomes for mothers and babies, producing evidence that informs clinical practice and policy. Her promotion also recognises sustained excellence in research, supervision and academic leadership, alongside important clinical roles including contributions at RANZCOG and as Head of the Plenty Unit at Mercy Hospital for Women.
Dr Melvin Marzan’s promotion to Level B reflects a strong and emerging track record in research and supervision. This appointment recognises his promising scholarly output, commitment to high‑quality student learning and active engagement in departmental activities. The Department congratulates Dr Marzan on this important career milestone and looks forward to his continued contributions.
