ECR Grant for 2027

Congratulations to our Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Newborn Health researchers Dr Zobaida Edib, Dr Isobel Todd and Dr Qingqing Fan who were all awarded University of Melbourne 2026 Early Career Researcher Grants for commencement in 2027.

Dr Zobaida Edib is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working within the Fertility Preservation Taskforce based at Royal Women’s Hospital and was awarded the ECR grant for the project entitled ‘Restoring Fertility in Male Childhood Cancer Survivors via Testicular Grafting’.

Dr Isobel Todd is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working within the Perinatal Epidemiology Group based at the Mercy Hospital for Women and was awarded the ECR Grant for the project ‘The impact of birth mode and timing on child health’.

Dr Qingqing Fan is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working within the Therapeutics Discovery and Vascular Function in Pregnancy Group based at the Mercy Hospital for Women and was awarded the ECR Grant for the project entitled ‘Engineering a Nitric Oxide-Releasing Nanodrug for the Treatment of Preeclampsia’

The ECR Grants scheme is a core part of the University’s framework of researcher development and our research strategy Advancing Research 2030: Excellence for Impact, which places a high priority on nurturing research careers. The program aims to support ECRs to strengthen their track record and competitiveness for applying for external research funds, and to enhance ECRs’ capability, networks and experience as an academic at the University of Melbourne.
