Thesis Title: Pulmonary function and physical activity in school-aged children born moderate-to-late preterm and their early-life associations

Thesis Summary: This thesis investigated the effect of moderate-to-late preterm birth (32 to 36 weeks' gestation) on lung function and physical activity in children at 9 years of age. Compared with term born controls, children born moderate-to-late preterm demonstrated small but significant reductions in lung function, specifically to parameters of expiratory airflow and gas diffusion. No differences in physical activity levels between those born moderate-to-late preterm and those born at term were observed.
