Thesis Title: Investigation of approaches for handling missing data in complex epidemiological studies

Thesis Summary: Missing data in epidemiological studies are common, and multiple imputation (MI) is a popular solution. However, compatibility between the imputation and analysis models is crucial for valid inference. Analyses using inverse probability weighting (IPW) present a challenge for achieving compatibility. Case-cohort and longitudinal studies with missing data may use MI and IPW together. This thesis evaluates the combined use of MI and IPW compared to MI or IPW alone and investigates methods for ensuring compatibility using simulation and case studies.
