Thesis Title: Towards ending tuberculosis in a high burden multidrug-resistance setting: strategies for prevention

Thesis Summary:

This thesis examined tuberculosis detection, treatment and prevention interventions in a high-burden drug-resistant tuberculosis setting in Papua New Guinea. The research evaluated implementation of clinical and community-based approaches, described socio-ecological determinants and designed novel comprehensive community-wide screening and prevention strategies. Findings informed local responses and contributed global evidence for ending tuberculosis
