Thesis Title: Exploring the investigation, diagnosis and clinical management of tree nut and peanut allergy in children

Thesis Summary: Tree nut and peanut allergy are the commonest causes of food-induced anaphylaxis and death in children. Despite this, there is limited understanding of the accuracy of the diagnostic tools, and broad approach to investigation and management of these patients. My PhD reviews the evidence for the accuracy of current diagnostic tests used in assessment of food allergy. It explores specific tree nut allergy prevalence, develops clinical algorithms to predict allergy and assesses the health economic impact of implementing these models.
