The Department of Paediatrics offers a limited number of places for non-University of Melbourne medical students who wish to undertake clinical elective at the Melbourne Children’s Campus.
The Department of Paediatrics offers a limited number of placements for non-University of Melbourne medical students who wish to undertake clinical electives at The Royal Children’s Hospital
We offer clinical elective placements of for medical students from universities other than The University of Melbourne to undertake clinical electives at The Royal Children’s Hospital.
Elective students are attached to a Royal Children’s Hospital clinical department for the duration of the placement. Students will be provided many opportunities to engage in clinical activities in relation to patient assessment and patient care. The University of Melbourne does not provide assessment or formal teaching sessions related to your approved elective placement.
We cannot guarantee that the clinical placement requested will always be available due to the large number of applications we receive, however we will endeavour to accommodate your first preference.
We are unable to offer paediatric placements in the Emergency Department or General Medicine Department.
