Announcement - Promotion for Associate Professor Alice Pèbay

It is with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of Associate Professor Alice Pèbay to Professor; this promotion will take effect as of January 2019.

Alice joined the University of Melbourne in 2007, where, together with Dr Mirella Dottori, she established the first laboratory at the University of Melbourne that routinely worked with human embryonic stem cells in the Department of Pharmacology/Centre for Neuroscience. In 2012, after a further 2 years spent expanding her skills by working with clinician scientists at the O’Brien Institute, Alice joined the Department of Ophthalmology (now the part of the Department of Surgery) and the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA), to develop stem cell research for retinal disease and to continue her investigation of the roles of lipids in stem cell biology. Alice will be moving to Parkville to become a joint appointment between the Department of Surgery (the Royal Melbourne Hospital) and the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience in the School of Biomedical Sciences.
