Department of Surgery Research Showcase

The annual Department of Surgery Research Showcase was held on Tuesday 13 November 2018.

Staff, students, and honorary appointments met for the annual Department of Surgery Research Showcase at the Woodward Conference Centre at Parkville on Tuesday 13th November. The focus for this year’s forum was Big Data, Research and the role of Health Economics which was presided over by the Department of Surgery Chair of Research Professor Peter Choong.

Invited keynote speakers, and enlisted for the subsequent discussion panel were Josh Knight from the Health Economics Group in the School of Population and Global Health, Dr Katherine Keating, head of Preventative Health, and member Health Healthcare and Strategy, and Associate Professor Michelle Dowsey representing Surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital. The category winners of the day included Grace Lidgerwood from the Centre of Eye Research (CERA), who won the prize for best presentation from an Early Career Researcher, Emilia Nan Tie from Peter Mac for her MDRP Poster Presentation, and Felicia Widyaputri (also from CERA) for the top presentation from a PhD student.
