Innovation in Surgical Anatomy Prize

Innovation in Surgical Anatomy Prize for medical students

The Innovation in Surgical Anatomy Prize is a collaboration between the Department of Surgery, Department of Anatomy and innovation in surgical anatomyNeuroscience and the Surgical Students’ Society of Melbourne (SSSM). It is an initiative that encourages medical students to revise their surgical anatomy, apply it to clinical scenarios and then develop teaching material based on this. The Prize underlines the importance of research and evidenced-based practice.

It provides an opportunity for students to work in teams and improve on their research skills at each stage of their training. Students will be submitting their final poster by July 30th 2020, which will be assessed on criteria including evidence based practice, clinical importance and most importantly how anatomy teaching can be embedded into surgical practice.
