CSIRO ON Innovation Program
Congratulations to Professor Justin Yeung and the PredictX Health team, and Professor Peter Choong and Professor Michelle Dowsey and the Axcelda team for being selected for the CSIRO ON Accelerate program!
We’re excited to welcome the newest cohort of ON Accelerate, our program for research teams to develop their high-potential science backed ventures. Projects include faster skin cancer detection by DermAI, and Hyrdo Harvester securing water for drought affected communities, both ventures pictured here. ON Accelerate is designed to close the persistent gap for Australian innovators by providing the commercialisation skills, industry connections and investor networks needed to take breakthrough ideas from lab to real-world impact. With ON alumni already securing over $800 million in funding to date, this program continues to strengthen Australia’s innovation ecosystem and deliver meaningful social and economic benefits.
Professor Justin Yeung's Group:
PredicTx Health - An AI-driven precision oncology platform that personalizes chemotherapy dosing by predicting individual patient response, replacing outdated one-size-fits-all methods to improve safety, efficacy, and quality of life.
Professor Peter Choong & Professor Michelle Dowsey's Group:
Axcelda - Our point-of-care cartilage repair system enables surgeons to restore joint function in a single 60-minute procedure using an integrated device, hydrogel, and light-activated applicator—eliminating costly lab processing and preventing osteoarthritis progression.
The journey began in November 2025 with Bootcamp, where Australia’s brightest deep tech innovators took their first steps toward commercialisation. Following a highly competitive selection process, 12 standout teams advanced to Immersion Week and the 10 prestigious teams chosen to complete the full program have just been announced.
These 10 teams will undergo an intensive, 3-month program combining in-person and online learning, guided by industry experts and mentors.
On Thursday, 11 June 2026, these startups will take to the stage at ON Translate 2026 in Melbourne, showcasing their growth, achievements and future potential. We invite investors, industry leaders, mentors and innovation ecosystem supporters to join us for this celebration.
Wishing both teams the best of luck and success!
