UoM RHD Students and Graduate Supervisors
The Department of Surgery invites Research Masters and PhD students to showcase their research at the Annual Research Showcase on Tuesday 10th November 2026.
This year’s theme is “Scalpel to Startup”, celebrating innovation and commercialisation in surgery—but research on any topic is welcome!
⭐ Top 5 abstracts will be invited to deliver a 5-minute rapid-fire presentation (max. 5 slides), followed by a joint Q&A.
🏆 Best RHD presentation: Prize of up to $1,000 towards conference expenses, subject to supervisor approval.
📌 Submit your abstract (max. 200 words) by 5:00 PM, Friday 2nd October 2026

UoM Students and Undergraduate Supervisors
Are you a final-year Medical Student who has completed a surgical research project? This is your opportunity to showcase your research at the Department of Surgery’s Annual Research Showcase on Tuesday 10th November 2026.
Theme: “Scalpel to Startup”
Submissions on ANY research topic are warmly welcome: the goal is to celebrate the breadth of research taking place across the Department of Surgery precincts.
Medical Students in their final year who have completed surgical research projects (eg within the research scholar or clinical scholar programs) or any research in which a surgeon from the department of surgery is involved with (as supervisor or co-supervisor) to submit abstracts for consideration.
📌 Submit: Abstract (max. 200 words)
⏰ Deadline: 5:00 PM, Friday 2 October 2026

Selected submissions (up to 10) will be selected for the poster showcase, with a prize of up to $500 for the best presentation.
