St Vincent's Hospital, University of Melbourne Surgical Forum 24th-26th July 2023

The 2023 St Vincent’s Hospital, University of Melbourne Surgical Forum will focus on Surgical Team Optimisation in the Pursuit of Efficiency and Sustainability.

About the Event  

We are pleased to announce the St Vincent’s Hospital, University of Melbourne Surgical Forum for 2023 which will be held as a Hybrid event on the 24-26 July 2023 in the Department of Surgery, St Vincent’s Hospital.

The theme of the 2023 Forum will be “Surgical Team Optimisation in the Pursuit of Efficiency and Sustainability ”. There will be presentations from invited speakers and various surgical units.

The Vellar Foundation Lecture, along with the Sir Hugh Devine Oration and Clarebrough Memorial Lecture will be incorporated again this year. The Peter Ryan Prize for the best presentation from junior medical staff, will also be included again in the program, a plaque commemorating the achievement will hang in the Department of Surgery at St Vincent’s.

Memorial Lectures:

Sir Hugh Devine Oration – Professor Elizabeth Molloy, Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, The University of Melbourne

Clarebrough Memorial Lecture – Dr. Professor Russell White, Chief of Surgery, Tenwek Mission Hospital and Clinical Professor of Surgery, Brown University School of Medicine, Providence, Rhode Island, USA.

Vellar Foundation Lecture – Professor Andrew Barbour, General Surgeon (upper gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and oncological surgery), Brisbane, Queensland.
