The Sustainable Healthcare Team is leading Project 5 of the multi-site National Health and Medical Council (NHMRC) funded Healthcare Environmental Sustainability: Creating the Evidence to Drive Adoption of High-Value Initiatives in Australian Hospitals. Project 5 is a framework designed to increase staff engagement with healthcare sustainability initiatives. It will investigate how the University of Melbourne’s Sustainability Toolkit for Hospitals can deliver environmental, clinical, social and financial benefits while building a more confident, engaged and resilient health workforce.

By measuring waste, carbon emissions, and energy usage in hospitals, the lab pioneers innovative solutions to mitigate environmental harm while upholding patient care standards.
