Congratulations to Wen Kai Wong on completing his PhD!

Wen Kai has completed his PhD, his thesis titled  "Unveiling the Facets of Acute Myocardial Infarction Outcomes: A Comprehensive Analysis of Health Determinants and Diverse Risk Landscapes". He was supervised by  Prof Karlheinz Peter.

In his thesis, Wen Kai demonstrated that conventional risk factors fail to identify all individuals at risk of acute myocardial infarction, challenging current prevention frameworks. Using UK Biobank data, his findings establish that ‘low risk’ reflects the limits of measurement rather than true biological protection, with implications for more personalised, life-course-informed cardiovascular risk assessment.
