Showcasing Australian research on dermatology in general practice

Recent work highlighting Australian research on dermatology care in general practice was presented at the Society for Academic Primary Care Dermatology Special Interest Group.

Dr Anneliese Willems recently presented at the 14th Society for Academic Primary Care Dermatology Special Interest Group meeting, an international forum focused on advancing research into skin conditions commonly managed in primary care.

Dr Willems presented findings from a qualitative study examining system level barriers and enablers to dermatological care in Australian general practice. The work explores how organisational structures, access pathways, and informal learning shape the way skin conditions are managed in everyday clinical practice, and identifies opportunities to better support clinicians in delivering high quality dermatological care.

The meeting provided valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues working across primary care dermatology internationally and to contribute Australian perspectives to discussions on improving care for patients with skin disease.
