People & Culture Gathering Explores Mentorship, Menteeship and Sponsorship

The Department of Medicine People & Culture Committee was delighted to host its annual People & Culture Gathering on Wednesday 10th June.

We were privileged to welcome Professor Rana Hinman, Deputy-Director of the Centre for Health, Exercise & Sports Medicine, who delivered an engaging and thought-provoking presentation on mentorship, menteeship and sponsorship. Her practical insights and strategies resonated strongly with attendees and encouraged reflection on how we can all contribute to a more supportive and inclusive culture within the Department.

We extend our sincere thanks to Professor Hinman for generously sharing her time and expertise, and to all staff and students who attended and contributed to the event's success, whether in person or online.

Following the presentation, in-person attendees enjoyed a networking lunch catered by the University of Melbourne Campus Canteen, whose social enterprise model helps subsidise affordable meals for students across the University.

The People & Culture Committee looks forward to continuing these gatherings as opportunities to connect, learn from one another and strengthen the positive culture within our Departmental community.
