Wellbeing In Ageing Symposium (WiAT): Building Future Impact From 30 Years Of Learning
The Department of Psychiatry will host its 30th Annual Symposium, “Building Future Impact From 30 Years Of Learning.” In keeping with the tradition of 30 years of aged mental health meetings, the program brings together leading experts in psychiatry, psychology, geriatric medicine, public health, lived experience and neuropsychology across the university, health service, government, and community sectors.
Highlights will include presentations on climate change impacts, AI-based mental health resources, and autism assessment in older adults. Presentations cover treatments for difficult to treat depression, including ketamine and TMS, plus dementia prevention, care coordination, new Alzheimer’s disease therapies, updated Lewy body diagnostic criteria, and co-designed prevention strategies. The program concludes with a panel discussion on workplace wellbeing.
