Associate Professor Katrina Witt appointed Deputy Chair of the National Committee for Data in Science
We are pleased to announce that A/Prof. Katrina Witt has been appointed Deputy Chair of the National Committee for Data in Science within the Australian Academy of Science.
The National Committee for Data in Science plays a key advisory and leadership role in strengthening Australia’s scientific data ecosystem. Its work focuses on promoting best practice in data management, governance, accessibility, and interoperability across scientific disciplines. The Committee also contributes to national and international discussions on research infrastructure, open science, and the responsible use of data in advancing discovery and innovation.
As Deputy Chair, Katrina will support the Committee’s strategic direction and engagement activities, helping to guide initiatives that enhance how scientific data is curated, shared, and utilised across the research community. This appointment reflects Katrina's expertise and ongoing contribution to advancing data-informed science and research practice.
