2026 Isaac Schweitzer Travelling Fellowship Winner:  Dr Tom Reilly

Congratulations to  Dr Tom Reilly, who’s been awarded the 2026  Isaac Schweitzer Travelling Fellowship, earning a $3,000 grant.

This award was established with support from Healthscope's The Melbourne Clinic, in memory of  Professor Isaac Schweitzer, who passed away in 2013, and is offered to psychiatry trainees or early career psychiatrists in the Department of Psychiatry, providing the opportunity to travel overseas to undergo training or professional development to further their career in the field of psychiatry.

Tom plans to use this grant to take the first project of his PhD to the international stage, by presenting at the Organisation of Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) Conference in Toronto, 2027. He also plans to learn directly from one of the groups whose work has shaped his thinking, by visiting a research lab at McGill University in Montreal.

Presenting at OHBM 2027 will be the first time Tom shares his work beyond Australia. OHBM brings together the people working at the very edge of neuroimaging, and he is looking forward to putting his findings in front of that community, hearing where they think it can be pushed further, and bringing those ideas back into the work before he writes it up.
