DoP Teaching Team: Spotlight on Michael
Learn more about Michael, an academic psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry whose work focusses on medical student mental health education.
Michael, MBBS BSc MPsych FRANZCP
Michael is involved in the bigger picture coordination of mental health education within the University of Melbourne Doctor of Medicine, but also in the smaller picture coordination of specific student mental health placements at Austin Health.
Michael also works clinically as a psychiatrist in two very different settings. In his spare time Michael also has several other roles. He is a member of the executive team of MHELANZ (the Mental Health Education Leads of Australia and New Zealand) which is a network of passionate psychiatric academics, and he also hosts the Australian psychiatric podcast ‘The Psych Review’ which covers recent developments in international psychiatry.
