A new treatment for depression

There is evidence from basic science and human studies that two medications currently approved to treat diabetes and high cholesterol may have anti-depressant properties.

The Deakin University-led trial aims to assess if these commonly prescribed and well-tolerated medications may help people with major depressive disorder.

The study aims to test if these two medications, in addition to your usual treatment, helps to reduce symptoms of depression and improve general quality of life.
