The STRAND Project: Are you experiencing symptoms of binge eating disorder?
Binge eating disorder (BED) affects millions of people. Current treatment options for BED are limited, and researchers are continuing to explore new approaches that may help people experiencing binge eating.
The STRAND study is investigating how tirzepatide, a medication approved for the treatment of diabetes, obesity and obstructive sleep apnea, may influence brain function and binge eating behaviors in adults with binge eating disorder.
Participants in the STRAND study will take tirzepatide once per week for 24 weeks while researchers monitor changes in eating behaviors, mood, and brain activity using questionnaires, mobile phone surveys, and MRI brain scans. The aim of the study is to better understand how tirzepatide affects binge eating behaviors and mood.
