Dr MJ Yoo

Dr MJ Yoo is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Melbourne. She is a Course Coordinator for the Master of Psychiatry course, and the Clinical Psychiatric Course. In addition to her role with the University of Melbourne, MJ also works as a Consultant Psychiatrist at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. MJ is interested in general adult psychiatry, in particular the interface between body and mind. She is an active contributor to research, with several publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is passionate about medical education. MJ enjoys supporting students to learn, grow, and achieve to their best ability in psychiatric skills and knowledge.

Sam P

Sam P is a Course Coordinator for the University of Melbourne’s Master of Psychiatry and the Clinical Psychiatry Course. He works in adult and youth custody as a forensic psychiatrist and a fellow-in-training in child and adolescent psychiatry. Sam is a criminal defence solicitor experienced in appearing in indictable and summary matters, including for youth and for people with severe mental illness. Sam is practised at running contested intervention order hearings. He is an award-winning teacher and researcher, with expertise in forensic psychiatry, the rights of prisoners, medicolegal law and medical ethics.

Associate Professor Lee Allen

Lee is the Education and Teaching Lead in the Department of Psychiatry, at the University of Melbourne Medical School. She brings expertise across the developmental range of mental health medical education in psychiatry, including medical school, prevocational, specialist psychiatry training and working with primary care and community health sectors. Lee oversees the teaching and education delivered by the Department of Psychiatry including the mental health coordinator lead in the MD of the University of Melbourne. She is the current Chair of the Victorian Psychiatry Training Committee, and Deputy Chief Psychiatrist in the Victorian Government Department of Health. Lee has a particular interest in workforce growth in psychiatry, wellbeing, leadership, and partnerships with others. She is a founding member of MHELANZ, Mental Health Education Leaders Australia and New Zealand, the MDANZ Mental Health Special Interest Group.

Associate Professor Samantha Loi

Associate Professor Samantha Loi is Deputy Head of the Department of Psychiatry and is providing support to the team.

Samantha Susa

Samantha is the Academic Programs Coordinator for the Master of Psychiatry, Clinical Psychiatry Course, short courses, continuing professional development (CPD), and psychiatry subspecialty clinical terms within the Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Melbourne’s Department of Psychiatry. She brings over a decade of experience within the education sector, with a strong focus and interest in medical education. Outside of her role, Samantha contributes strategic and operational insight through her involvement in working groups and research projects with the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Caroline Ma

Caroline is the Business Administrator Co-ordinator at Mindful - Centre for Training and Research in Developmental Health, facilitating financial and operational processes, as well as supporting the Infant Mental Health Advanced Training, and is a Course Administrator for the Clinical Psychiatry Course. Outside of the University of Melbourne, she also works as a Kindergarten educator, and is a former Secondary school teacher, with experience in curriculum development, student support and project management in tertiary and vocational settings.
