The Western Health Surgical Research Group (WestSuRG) is a collaborative surgical research initiative founded in 2020. Comprising surgeons, trainees, junior doctors, and medical students, WestSuRG is dedicated to advancing surgical research both locally and globally. Over the years, we have contributed to a wide range of studies, from local research to major international multi-centre cohort studies such as COVIDSurg Week, the OPERAS Study, SNAP3, and GECKO.

Our mission is to foster a supportive environment for individuals passionate about surgical research. Whether you are looking to launch your own project or collaborate on an existing one, we are here to help. Our team offers guidance, connections, and enthusiasm throughout the entire process. WestSuRG welcomes everyone, from those with extensive experience to those just beginning their research journey.
