If you are interested in surgical research or not sure where to start, look no further!

WestSuRG (Western Surgical Research Group) is a home-grown, junior doctor lead research group based at Western Health. WestSuRG prides itself in contributing to surgical research globally as well as the opportunity to mentor and assist junior doctors in developing their research careers.

Over the years, WestSuRG has participated in major international, multicentre cohort studies, contributing to high impact publications such as the COVIDSurg week, OPERAS study (Opioid prescription after surgery), SNAP3 (Perioperative delirium) an GECKO (Global cholecystectomy outcomes), with over 50 consultants, junior doctors, and medical students participating. 
WestSuRG holds regular research meetings with education and showcase of our latest research.
