Kamol Kin - 2022

I am a medical student undertaking my research project on colorectal cancer and body composition at the Department of Surgery, Western Health. My project focussed on body composition changes during rectal cancer treatment.

I feel very fortunate to be working with the incredible team at the Department of Surgery at Western Health. Under the supportive mentorship of A/Prof Justin Yeung, I was able to gain valuable experience in surgical research and furthered my understanding of colorectal cancer care. Justin and the team have been incredibly accommodating and have gone above and beyond to provide me with important learning opportunities to facilitate my research education. I can say with strong confidence that the support that this department has for students is second to none and I am very grateful for being able to undertake my research project here.

It has been a pleasure to learn from Justin and the team, and I look forward to more surgical research opportunities in the future.  I highly recommend that future MDRS students consider undertaking their project with the Department of Surgery at Western Health.
