Welcome from the Head of Department
Thank you for taking time to read our newsletter. In this edition we celebrate our award winners and welcome new staff and students. We are also delighted to share with you exciting work in the areas of family violence, cancer and the use of big data, to name a few. I also take this opportunity to thank the many GPs, Practice Managers, Practice Nurses and Practice Staff who have once again enriched the education of our medical students during their GP placements and/or participated in research projects.

Vital Funding for Cancer Research in Primary Care
In collaboration with the Cancer Council Victoria, Professor Jon Emery recently received funding from the Victorian Department of Health & Human Services to extend their work on the implementation of efficient cancer diagnostic pathways.
