2025 Annual MRI Safety Day - IMSRT ANZ
The 2025 Annual MRI Safety Day (ISMRT ANZ) was held on Saturday the 22nd of March, hosted in the Kenneth Myer Building at the University of Melbourne.
The 2025 Annual MRI Safety Day, organised by the ANZ Chapter of the ISMRT, was held on Saturday the 22nd of March. This was the second ISMRT MRI Safety Day, building off the success of the first iteration in 2024. This event was hosted by The Florey in the Kenneth Myer Building at the University of Melbourne.
World renowned MRI safety expert Dr. Frank G. Shellock joined local experts in an interactive day of education. MBCIU’s A/Prof. Brad Moffat was on the panel of experts, sharing his knowledge as an MRI Scientist and Physicist. Topics ranged from conducting risk / benefit analyses to managing off label imaging of implants.
The day was well received with over 200 attendees from a variety of MRI related professions.
After the conclusion of the talks the MBCIU took the opportunity to hold tours of the 7T MRI facility which is also located in the Kenneth Myer Building. Brad joined MBCIU Research Radiographer, Tudor Sava, in showing attendees the facility and explaining the idiosyncrasies of MRI safety at ultra-high field.
